Northeast in the midst of the worst July heat wave in a decade, warm beneath a bigtop. In a heat wave show announcers earn the respect of anyone. Performers may spend minutes at a time in the tent. Ushers, inside seat sellers, music and lighting guys, the prop crew and announcers swelter through the whole performance.
